Biography of Christopher

Christopher Stollery was born the 12th of August 1965. He has three brothers and three sisters and is the youngest but one. When Christopher was 9 years old, his father passed away.

After he finished school, Christopher went to the National Institute of Dramatic Arts in Sydney. In 1987 he graduated. Since then Christopher is a familiar face in Australian theatres. In an interview he said he preferred theatre to acting in televisions shows because you have more interaction with your audience whilst on stage. He was an associated actor to the Bell Shakespeare Company and that's why he played many (leading) roles like Hamlet and Mark Anthony in Shakespeare's plays.

In 1990 Christopher got the role of Johnno in The Flying Doctors which he played till the end of the series. It was in these days that he met Lenore and the two got a relationship. They lived together in Sydney for a couple of years, but they broke up in 1993 and are now just good friends instead. It is said that Christopher was an item with actress Kym Wilson (in the Netherlands she is known for her role as Sam Robinson in Heartbreak High), but there is no official confirmation about that.

Christopher had another big role in the Australian drama series State Coroner as Dermot McLeod from 1996 - 1998. It was televised in the Netherlands as well. Christopher played a couple of guest roles in several television series. He also played in two films. In 1997 Christopher made his own short film Fine (7 minutes) which was a finalist at the Manhattan Short Film Festival. He directed three other films. Christopher was nominated for a Green Room Award for his performance as Mark Antony in Julius Caesar.
