My name is Myrna and I'm 29 years old. I live with my husband and
our lovely son in one of the largest cities in the
Netherlands. I work as a editor in chief of a website about children's
books. I studied Dutch literature and language at the University of
Nijmegen and I graduated on juvenile literature.
I love reading, writing,
cappuccino, salads, the ocean, Sex and the City, Rammstein, meeting friends and keeping fit. I don't
like mice, public transport and cooked potatoes.
One of my greatest passions is Australia and, yes, that
started because of The Flying Doctors! I worked as an au
pair in Sydney in 2004. I still miss Sydney sometimes and I would love
to visit Australia again.
So why Flying Doctors, Lenore Smith and Christopher Stollery?
When I
first saw Flying Doctors in 1990, I was only ten years old. Flying
Doctors was in its 5th season in the Netherlands by then. One of the
first episodes I saw was number 124 Rhyme of Reason in which Kate played
the piano. And from that moment on I was a huge fan of Kate and Lenore
Smith because I played the piano too (that might be a dumb reason, but
remember I was only ten years old then...). I collected all interviews,
pictures and any information I could get of The Flying Doctors with help
of friends, family and classmates. My favourite episodes are A Doctor's
Dreaming and Yesterday's News.
In 1992 Lenore Smith and Christopher Stollery came to the Netherlands to
receive an award for best foreign television show. I saw it live on
Dutch television and there were many interviews with Lenore and
Christopher (who had a relationship together then), whom I both liked
best from that day on.
Unfortunately the TV series stopped in the Netherlands in march
1994. I was very, very sad! But as time heals all wounds, I got over it
and all Flying Doctors information disappeared in a map.
Until some years ago: I accidentally re-discovered The Flying Doctors on
the internet and I became a fan once more of Flying Doctors, Lenore
Smith and Christopher Stollery. I really think they are great actors and
Flying Doctors was one of the best TV series ever. Of course many things
have changed: Lenore and Christopher are no longer together, they both
have other partners and play in different shows. And Flying Doctors is a
series now more than a decade old.
But as I thought it was a pity to let all my Flying Doctors information
fade away in its map, I decided to start a site for myself and for all
fans of The Flying Doctors, Lenore Smith and Christopher Stollery. Just
to be creative and just for fun! I found out that there are still many
fans all over the world who have so many good memories of the series and
also the actors of the series still look back at it as the best time
they had. So there is something special about The Flying Doctors and I
hope this site will help to keep all the good memories alive!
I hope you enjoy(ed) my site. If you have any questions about my site, anything to add or correct or if you just like to contact me about Flying Doctors, Lenore Smith or Christopher Stollery, please send me an e-mail.
